The leader of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, admits defeat after the result of the voting in the administrative second round. “It is a clear defeat. They are administrators who demonstrate that the wind from the right is still strong. Thanks to all the candidates who dedicated these hours”, says Schlein al Nazareno. “We knew it would be difficult. You don’t change in two months. Change never passes through individuals, it will take longer”, adds the secretary of the Democratic Party. “It went badly in the capitals and better in the medium-sized municipalities, but I must say right away that the fact that the Democratic Party is the first list is no consolation for us,” he continues. “It is not possible to win alone, it is necessary to rebuild an alternative field to a right that is divided on many issues, but that at least appears united when it comes to voting in the places where it was separated in the first round. We feel, therefore, the responsibility of rebuilding an alternative field to the right, but it is not a responsibility of the democratic party alone”, concludes the leader of the DEM.
