“The good governance of the centre-right prevails once again and reinforces the action that we are leading in the leadership of the nation. Good job to the newly elected mayors!” It is a smiling Silvio Berlusconi who comments on the result of the municipal elections and the ballots that saw the center-right triumph. “The second round of administrative elections – says the Cavaliere in a note – brings great satisfaction to Forza Italia and the centre-right. We are going to wrest from the left, for the first time in history, the municipality of Ancona, the only regional capital to vote. We conquered Brindisi and confirmed ourselves in Catania, Massa, Pisa and Siena”.
The comment of Paolo Barelli, leader of the group in the House of Azzurri, also reached Forza Italia: “The center-right swept through the administrative elections, asserting itself as a solid coalition and a clear majority in the country. Today’s results reward our good governance, the quality of the chosen candidates and the quality of our proposals. The instrumental and useless polemics of the oppositions, the inconsistency of their contentious actions, were categorically rejected. Forza Italia – continues Barelli – is once again confirmed as decisive, we conquered important cities of the center-left, such as Brindisi, where ours is the first party with six councillors, and Ancona, where Daniele Silvetti, candidate blue sky. In the country there is a desire for Forza Italia, the return to the field of President Berlusconi, after difficult weeks, engaged in the reorganization of the party, marked a turning point, giving us the right impetus and the necessary jolt to think big again. With so many elected mayors and councilors, Forza Italia confirms itself as a government force, proving our movement’s ability to intercept the needs and demands of citizens. This election round – concludes the president of the Azzurra deputies – gives us the right impetus to continue on this path, continuing our struggles for which citizens have trusted and continue to trust us”.
