A leadership still impalpable in Pd that of Elly Schlein according to Paolo Mieli, guest this evening at Otto e Mezzo. “There are times when the radars no longer notice her, it is a problem that she will have to face”, argues the editorialist of Corriere della Sera, according to which the secretary of the dem is very shy in taking public positions on burning issues.
“She was voted – underlines Mieli – If Schlein has positions on the war, on the incinerator, on surrogacy, then she will fight for them”. The risk, reiterates the journalist, is of ending up “in a poorly made compromise for which it seems to say absolutely nothing. And then, for God’s sake, the ones that went before were better.” In the end, Mieli ventures a prediction: “If Schlein stays in the saddle, she will bring the Democratic Party over 25%, but it should bring out her personality.”
