Yesterday Luigi Di Maio made his professional debut as the new special representative of the European Union to the Persian Gulf. On his first day at Berlaymont Palace, he opened his Twitter account with a twitter in three languages: English, Arabic and Persian: “The first day he took office as the EU’s special representative in the Gulf. I am ready and ready.” Member States are fully engaged to engage with EU institutions and each of our partners in the region. There is much at stake and much to be done through sincere dialogue and mutual respect. For our common security and well-being”.
The tweet was also republished by the European Union’s foreign service spokesman, Peter Stano. However, less than 24 hours after his debut, the account was suspended “for violating Twitter rules”, the page says both Di Maio’s name and photo have disappeared.
