GOALS:
❑ Evaluate the mood of the country at a global level and for each of its regions, including urban and rural areas, as well as metropolitan and non-capital municipalities.
❑ Measure the president’s approval and the image of people and institutions in Colombia.
❑ Inquire about public opinion on current events (current situation).
❑ Determine people’s level of acceptance of certain laws, proposals or statements from the National Government.
UNIVERSE:
Men and women aged 18 and over, from all socio-economic levels at the national level, with urban and rural coverage (excluding the departments
previously called “National Territories”).
SAMPLING FRAME:
In the first phase of the sampling, the National Census is discriminated against by municipalities. In the second stage, planimetry of each of the selected populations. In the third
phase, houses of the selected blocks and sidewalks in each population. In the fourth and final phase, persons aged 18 and older become occupants of each home. This
sampling frame covers 100% of the target group.
SIZE AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE SAMPLE:
1,200 surveys were carried out, spread over the following municipalities: Acacías, Anserma, Arjona, Armenia, Armero, Arroyohondo, Barrancabermeja, Barranquilla, Bello,
Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Buenaventura, Cali, Cartagena, Cartago, Cereté, Chía, Chocontá, Ciénaga, Cordoba, Cucuta, Dibulla, Funza, Guadalupe, Ibagué, Ipiales, Itagüí, La Estrella,
Liborina, Malambo, Manizales, Medellín, Miranda, Neiva, Obando, Ocaña, Palmira, Pelaya, Pereira, Pijiño del Carmen, Popayan, Puerto Berrio, Puerto Boyacá, Quindío,
Rionegro, Sabana de Torres, San Pedro, Santa Sofia, Silos, Sincelejo, Soacha, Soledad, Supatá, Tarazá, Tuchín, Tumaco, Valledupar, Zarzal (a total of 57 municipalities, of which
16 are capitals). Weighting factors have been applied to align the distribution of the sample with the actual distribution of the universe by region and size. this size
sample agrees with the proposal.
SAMPLING SYSTEM: probabilistic in stages: 1. Systematic random selection of 75 sample points throughout the country. 2. Systematic random selection of four
blocks or sidewalks at each sampling point. 3. Systematic random selection of four households per block or village. 4. Simple random selection of a person from
Living in the home for 18 or more years.
MARGIN OF ERROR: The margins of error within 95% confidence limits are: for the total sample of 1,200 surveys +/- 2.83%; for the total of
the sample from Bogotá +/- 6.80%, Northern Caribbean +/- 6.33%, Central East +/- 5.77%, Antioquia/Eje Cafetero +/- 6.33% and Southwest +/- – 6.55%; for the whole sample
of men +/- 4.00% and women +/- 4.00%; for the total sample of people aged 18 to 24 +/- 7.45%, from 25 to 34 +/- 6.30%, from 35 to 44 +/- 6.41%, from 45
at 54 years +/- 6.93% and 55 years or older +/- 5.23%; for the total sample of stratum (1-2) +/- 3.34%, stratum (3) +/- 6.15% and stratum (4, 5 and 6) +/- 10.57%; for the total of
the sample from the urban area +/- 3.23% and rural +/- 5.89%; for the total sample of municipalities Capitals +/- 4.20% and Non-Capitals +/- 3.83%.
DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUE: Personal surveys at the respondent’s home using tablets.
DATA COLLECTION DATE: from 26 to 29 May 2023.
NUMBER OF INTERVIEWERS: 57 interviewers participated in the study.
VALIDATION METHOD: 100% of the surveys conducted were assessed and 10% of them were supervised.
TOPICS REFERRED TO: approval of the president, image of Colombian characters and institutions, main problem to be solved in the country, acceptance
concerning laws, proposals or rulings of the moment.
