After the political crisis caused by the case of Laura Sarabia and the illegal interceptions against her ex-nanny, Marelbys Meza, who was due to leave the Presidential Chief of Staff today, the Historical Pact broke its silence and in this regard stated: Endorsing President Gustavo Petro, who assured that his government was not causing any ‘shocks’.
According to the statement of this community, the Colombian president has been a man who throughout his career has opposed the violation of individual and collective freedoms, illegal hacks and the corruption that has engulfed the estates of the Colombian state for decades.
“Without a doubt, his fight against inequality is tireless. For this reason, now that you have the opportunity to change the ways of governing and exercising politics with transparency, all our confidence and respect for your criteria and wisdom for decision-making, which means that you can successfully run, for example, another government, a nationwide project for life”, describes the Historical Pact.
In addition, this group vehemently rejected the use of high positions to carry out allegedly illegal actions, related to abuse of power and trust, in defense of personal interests that directly or indirectly affect the conduct of the Petro government.
“Our support and commitment to remove all those who, based on their work, have tarnished their trust, no one can be above the law and justice,” the group emphasized, revealing the possibility that Laura Sarabia and the Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Aramando Benedetti, can be removed from their posts.
He concluded the pact’s statement by explaining that “changes are being made with facts, just 9 months into this transitional path, we call on all Colombians to solidarity, to unity, to inform us truthfully, to mobilize and close ranks to strengthen and change the way, fight for the changes we have been dreaming of for years, support the reforms needed to guarantee rights, believe again that it is possible, hope and respect for strengthen the institutions, resolutely restore the balance of power that strengthens democracy and makes it viable”.
It should be noted that this support for President Gustavo Petro has also been seen through social networks, where the members of this party have declared their firm faith in the ideal of the project.
