Roman salute at the June 2 parade, Minister Crosetto against Murgia

Controversy over the Roman salute in the June 2 parade. Michela Murgia unleashes the storm and Minister Crosetto breaks it down across the board. «Anyone who discusses the alleged “fascist” salutes at the parade on June 2 ignores what is a normal “beware of the left” (to greet the authorities at each parade, as last year). Anyone who smears the #Comsubin with absurd comparisons with the CSR despises the value and work of the Special Forces”.

It all started with Michela Murgia’s Instagram post. “Yesterday at the June 2 military parade, under the impassive gaze of President Mattarella, this also happened. All normal, as the normalization process has been going on for years. If the meaning of the video is not clear, search for “X flotilla MAS” in Wikipedia. It will immediately become clear to you why La Russa smiles so much and makes the victory sign. (But what else is needed to understand what is happening?)». This is the complaint on Instagram by writer Michela Murgia, who publishes a video of the parade on social media – with the superimposed writing “enter the parade with the Roman salute” – of the Comsubin Navy commandos, who shout “Decima” in front of the stage of the authorities.

The Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, does not respond directly, but reposts a tweet from journalist Massimiliano Coccia, who writes: “An absurd accusation is circulating on social networks at these times, namely that a department of the Navy would have given the Roman salute to the authority forum. A falsehood for many reasons: firstly there is no X Mas in Navy service, the RSI’s has been dead and buried since 1945; the provocation launched by some beam that evoked the fascist flotilla on social networks, emphasizing the military salute in question; the salute you see is not a Roman salute, it is a military march salute, which consists of raising the right arm perpendicularly (in honor of the tricolor) and then lowering it to the temple for the salute; it is not a salute from just one Navy troop, but from several army corps; as an anti-fascist I consider it very important not to evoke non-existent ghosts and, moreover, I would like to remind you that the Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces is Sergio Mattarella; these positions arise from gross ignorance of military, strategic, and defense issues. We can no longer afford ignorance; in the photos (easily available on YouTube) other parades from the last decades are compared in which the same salutes are performed in the same way. If everything is fascism, nothing is fascism.”
