Of the 2,734 educational institutions affected by the reform that institutes tutoring teachers and guiding teachers on an experimental basis, figures that will accompany students from September onwards in building their school and professional path, amount to 2,728 (equivalent to 99.8% of the total) forwarded the request to participate in the training modules: a total of 52,176 tutors and 4,252 mentors. This resulted in almost total involvement of the schools for the last three years of upper secondary education, far surpassing the minimum target that had been set at 37,708 tutors and 2,753 mentors to start training. In fact, 138% of tutor teachers and 154% of tutor teachers participated. This result will make it possible to truly launch the virtuous path of personalizing teaching and guidance, through support for students and families that aim to identify and enhance the talents of all young people, making informed and thoughtful choices consistent with the potential of students, aiming to obtain the reduction of early school leaving and school failure. For the introduction of these values, a loan of 150 million euros is foreseen, earmarked for this purpose by ministerial order of last April. Other resources have already been found that allow disciplinary pedagogical support in extracurricular hours, thus extending school time. “This is an important result, due to the exceptional response of the entire school community and teachers in particular, who, despite the already onerous commitments at the end of the school year, have shown that they want to be protagonists in changing schools – declared the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara – My thanks to the teachers and school directors”, continued the minister, “despite the negative predictions of some, the important innovation brought by the Ministry received a generalized consensus. Now we are going to work together, also through constant dialogue with all institutional interlocutors, to continue the path of personalizing teaching and guidance, in the interest of Italian students and in line with the best international experiences”. from tutor teachers the state institutes, the autonomous provinces of Bolzano and Trento, as well as the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta to their respective teachers, teachers of these important realities of the school system.
