Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti guarantees that Italy will not give up any funding from the Pnrr. “I don’t want to give up anything if Pnrr funds are convenient.” The economy minister said as much in a video address on Bloomberg Capital Markets. The head of the Mef underlined: “We must evaluate which are the most productive investments in terms of the country’s capacity for growth and, if any project is no longer in force, it is our duty to review it”. According to the Minister of Economy, the non-use of all Pnrr funds by Italy would be “a blow to its image”, added Giorgetti, specifying that “the European Commission is also interested in Italy investing and moving well” .
As for taxation on extra bank profits, Minister Giorgetti “We have no taxation on extra bank profits in progress”. This was stated by Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, speaking via videoconference at Bloomberg’s Capital Markets in Milan. The Italian banking system, repeated the minister, “is solid” even if it should show “more flexibility” in the returns on accounts.
