On the day the government decided to intervene by modifying the regulatory framework with a tightening, Ignazio La Russa also proposes some ideas to fight femicide. The president of the Senate and exponent of the Brothers of Italy was a guest on Porta a Porta, a Rai1 television program presented by Bruno Vespa, and focused on the issue: “There has never been a proposal for a demonstration by all men. I see this demonstration as something that can stir consciences, but it cannot be a partisan demonstration. Either it is a choral manifestation, above the legitimate divisions of the parties, or it would be meaningless. I will speak about this at the next meeting of the group seats in the Senate”.
“The government is already working on femicide, but the first easy thing to do – proposes La Russa – is to double the number of Carabinieri and Police who are involved in these crimes of this type because I believe that prevention is the best cure that we can imagine”. “You said that, where you have to respect the woman in the family, you shouldn’t spare a slap” Vespa points out to her guest, who explains what she said in recent days as follows: “What is mandatory is that the family teaches respect . Slap is absolutely optional as a last resort. I hope there will never be a need, but it’s not so serious if at least once in your life you can’t give it, but at least make people afraid to give it…”.
