On the other hand, the Third House Committee approved in the first debate the increase in taxes on the tobacco and vaping.

In this regard the representative Saray Robayo, from La U, warned that about 34,000 people die every year in Colombia from these scourges, which also cost the country about $1.7 trillion a year, representing almost 2% of GDP, according to the Ministry of Health.

Finally, the debate on the ban on bullfighting was revived in the Senate. This after the Fifth Parliamentary Committee had submitted the project that wanted to end bullfighting, cockfighting and corralejas.

It is a new project in the Senate Sixth Committee, proposing to ban bullfighting, rejoneo, heifers, calves and temptations, confinement and release of heifers, without tampering with cockfighting or corralejas.
