Justice reform, Stefano Bonaccini criticizes the left

Stefano Bonaccini attacks the left on the issue of justice. The President of Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccini, interviewed by the director of La Stampa Massimo Giannini at the Festa dell’Unità in Rome, entering the debate on the celebrations in via D’Amelio, points out: “I notice that the Prime Minister has distanced himself from the somewhat surreal statements of Minister Nordio. Bringing in foreign competition at this moment does not seem to be a priority. I think the departure also put most in difficulties. So the fight against the mafia can be seen in particular in the measures that are taken. I wouldn’t want Meloni’s not appearing in public to be a sign of any embarrassment ».

He also states: “Every time the right goes to government it seems that they have scores to settle with the judiciary, this is not good for the country. I say this as a convinced guarantor. I happened to be investigated over a very small matter at a kiosk when I was a councilor in Modena. I could have prescribed but I wanted a trial because I didn’t want anyone to think I had committed a crime. But I suffered a lot from public exposure. The left should have reformed justice a long time ago. We deal a lot with Berlusconi and less with Berlusconi. Then, on the merits: for example, the tightening of wiretapping serves to prevent content that has nothing to do with procedural purposes from ending up in the newspapers». On the abolition of the abuse of power he says: “Many mayors have not asked for its abolition. Instead, a review of the crime was requested because it is sometimes treated as a tool for matters that would not fall under it. In general, it seems to me that Minister Nordio’s measures do not really solve the problems of Italian justice that keep foreign investors at a distance».
