Installation of Congress: without red carpet, lawyer or prosecutor

The delay caused by the installation of the second legislature of the Colombian Congress for the late arrival of the president Gustavus Petroit was scheduled for 2pm, then postponed to 4pm, but started around 5pm, it wasn’t the only thing that caught the attention of the event.

The first thing you noticed during Petro’s walk from Casa de Nariño to the Congress House was that he wasn’t on the usual red carpet for this kind of performance. On his way to the parliamentary headquarters, he was accompanied by the vice president Francia Márquez and about 19 members of Congress.
