Minimum wage, opposition off to a bad start: Tilt subscription platform

They had promised it at the end of the meeting in Palazzo Chigi with the prime minister and the government, and the opposition immediately mobilized to collect, together, signatures in favor of the proposed minimum wage law. A pdl, and therefore a collection of signatures, which sees the minority parties united with the sole exception of Italia Viva. The website has already been launched Minimumwagenow.it, where anyone who wants can sign the petition. The platform was immediately hacked in the first few hours, so much so that the site was confused due to the many hits and traffic. “We are trying to fix it, we apologize,” the sources of the parties supporting the petition immediately made known.

“If you also think that in Italy it is necessary to set a minimum wage, sign it!”: this is how the Democratic Party was the first to launch the initiative on its official accounts on social networks, inviting supporters to sign it, because , explain the dem, “after months of battle in Parliament and outside it, we went to a confrontation with the government to defend and explain our minimum wage proposal, but the right holds back, delays and has no alternative proposal. Three and a half million male and female workers are poor even if they work. They can’t wait”, concludes the Democratic Party, which will also organize banquets in the squares and at the Festa dell’Unità. “Sign, we need your support”, asks the secretary of the DEM, Elly Schlein, in a tweet.

“Involving the CNEL of Brunetta, which has already publicly demonstrated against this measure in the past, is just a way to throw the ball in the stands while 3.6 million workers continue to receive starvation wages”, commented the M5S leader, Giuseppe Conte, who publishes «the link with all the instructions on his Facebook account. I ask you to sign the petition and help spread it through your contacts.

“It is important to sign the minimum wage petition to help with approval. It is a measure of civilization in a country where in-work poverty is already widespread. It’s a fair and equitable protection against exploitation that all the great liberal democracies have”, tweeted the leader of Action, Carlo Calenda. And on the left, Nicola Fratoianni and Angelo Bonelli decide to launch the initiative with two videos on Twitter. “It’s important to sign” , says the +Europa secretary, Riccardo Magi. But the majority remain in their positions. From the League, it is Senator Gian Marco Centinaio who comments: “The collection of signatures serves to attract attention, not to improve the wages of workers”. And senator Salvatore Sallemi (FdI) guarantees: “We are going to present a credible and non-ideological proposal”, while the secretary of FI, Antonio Tajani, reiterates that the priority is to reduce taxes on wages.
