One more fool. Another, sensational, swipe from the left. Not even on the 15th of August did the Alliance of Greens and Lefts manage to avoid falling into a trap. After long and insistently proclaiming high attention to the nuclear issue, the party saw fit to spread another slogan with little verified content on its social channels. With the intention of publicizing a process of quantification, reduction and compensation of CO2 emissions, the Greens and Left group, through a twitter, set an apparently virtuous example.

“Next stop on our #interrailxilclimate Finland! A carbon neutral commitment by 2035 and a blueprint for a sustainable Helsinki. If Finland can, why not Italy?”: this is the content of the offensive tweet. Tweet that was soon removed from the party’s official profiles for a very specific reason. Scandinavian countries are among the biggest users of nuclear power. In particular, Finland meets 33% of its needs thanks to nuclear power plants and aims for 40% by the end of this year.
The same goes for Sweden, where the country’s energy needs are currently 31% met by nuclear power, a percentage that the current center-right government has decided to implement by eliminating the ceiling of the country’s ten reactors to build new ones. The departure of Esquerda Verde ended up in the sights of Elon Musk’s social network. The content was tagged with the anti-fake-news advisor, who dismantled that ideological and untruthful propaganda message. “If you’re against nuclear power, you’re not an environmentalist, period,” some X users point out.
