The president of the republic, Gustavo Petro, met with the congressmen of the liberal party at the Casa de Nariño this Wednesday with the aim of consolidating his “great national agreement” to implement the reforms proposed in his mandate.

In the middle of the meeting, community members asked the president to improve communication channels and be treated as part of the government.

“We have expressed the need to review these reforms if he is to gain majorities and reform the governing coalition. I saw that the president was open to dialogue, but he reminded us that if the Liberal Party wants to be a government party, it must support it. the reforms,” he told Congressman Juan Carlos Losada at the end of the meeting.

For his part, Representative Carlos Ardila pointed out that “if we are a ruling party, we hope to be a government, have a cabinet and influence the making of public policy.”
