In recent days, the Presidency of the Council, Department of Cohesion Policies, published the decree that provides for the allocation of an additional 60 million euros to the university and research system in the territories affected by the 2016 earthquake. through a specific competition, it provided for the allocation of 20 million euros for each of the following chapters: support, creation and reinforcement of research centers; technology transfer; expansion of the training offer. This allocation is in addition to the 62 million euros of the complementary plan to the Pnrr for the 2009 and 2016 earthquake zones, promoted and coordinated by the commissioner’s structure, for the construction of four research centers that will be built in Abruzzo (Teramo), Lazio (Rieti), Marche (Camerino) and Umbria (Foligno), whose works have already started. Through the publication of the Decree of the Presidency of the Council, the package of investments aimed at strengthening the university and research system in the territories affected by the earthquakes in the central Apennines is definitively completed, with special attention to the crater caused by the 2016 earthquake. decree allocated 51 of the 60 million available for coordinated projects complementary to the activities of research centers already financed by the PNC Fund. A great job[1]creation of a system that links research centers and universities operating in the areas affected by the 2016 earthquake, with the aim of developing or creating research centers, promoting technological transfer and promotion[1]maintain the training offer. Commissioner for repair and reconstruction of the 2016 earthquake, Guido Castelli, stated: “These in[1]investments, totaling 122 million euros allocated to university and research projects, costs[1]They represent a historic opportunity for the central Apennines. It’s the best possible demonstration of attention[1]guidance for the 2016 crater and more generally for this part of Italy from the government and institutions. Therefore, I can only express my satisfaction at the conclusion of a systemic action that is strongly desired and which has made universities in Central Italy cooperate for some time: a “network” that gives excellent results thanks to the spirit of collaboration that animates all disciplines . Another proof of this is the fact that on October 18th I met with the Rectors of the 4 universities where the research centers financed by the Seismic Complementary Fund will be built, to promote new common initiatives. The investment of such vast resources demonstrates the desire to place human capital at the center of the economic and social relaunch of our territories, making them more competitive and attractive, even on the international scene.[1]national.
The belief – added Castelli – is that the support and strengthening of the network of research centers and universities in the area can, in turn, stimulate the development of synergy between research and the entrepreneurial system, promote technological transfer and the expansion of technical graduation.[1]niche for professional needs. These investments are also part of the repair strategy that we are adopting in the central Apennines, which have been hit and weakened in recent years by significant seismic events, which accompany the reconstruction work. A path of economic revival – concludes the commissioner of the 2016 earthquake – which has also seen in recent weeks the continued granting of financing for PNC competitions to companies”. In particular, among the funded projects, we highlight those of a scientific and technological nature presented by the University of Perugia, the strengthening of the international research center in science and technology[1]that of RECONSTRUCTION – STRIC+ and the school of Reconstruction and Resilience (SECURE) at the University of Camerino has already started with resources from the PNC. Of significant importance is also the Fermo-Tech Extended project, through which a Technology Transfer Laboratory for Made in Italy is activated in the crater territory and the expansion[1]ment of training provision through training for innovation in agricultural systems and the third sector. These interventions were both promoted by the Polytechnic University of Marche. The regional high school of innovation will be based in Teramo, while the University of Chieti-Pescara will promote TRAILED-LAB, a mobile laboratory serving the municipalities of the Crater. The National Institute of Nuclear Physics launches the MISTER project in Abruzzo – Innovative Materials for Science and Technology with High Resistance. Other funded projects that impact the development of the territory affected by the 2016 earthquake in Lazio are the technological research project presented by Link University and the innovation training project at La Sapienza University, based in Rieti.
