The usual left of double standard. The Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni he posted on social media a video which immortalizes a group of militants from the CGIL on the bus heading to yesterday’s demonstration in Rome. The chorus speaks for itself: “Meloni is a bitch“, the union protesters repeat in unison, applauding. “I always respect dissent, but I would like to know what do leftists think of these ‘political slogans’ from some CGIL activists. And I would like to know what the secretary thinks Mauricio Landiniwith his morals always ready for others”, writes the prime minister on Facebook. Words to which the union leader did not respond. Deadly silenceas well as on the left, with some sporadic exceptions.
The images speak for themselves. “Yesterday, on the sidelines of the demonstration organized by the CGIL, we witnessed the most sordid sexist insults directed at our prime minister by hordes of CGIL protesters. A shameful conduct for which we would have expected at least an apology from Secretary Landini, who at this moment preferred the path of silence, like the rest of the left-wing parties. An attitude that once again certifies the scarcity of a left in an evident crisis of content and identity”, declares the deputy leader of the Fratelli group in Italy in the Chamber of Deputies, Augusta Montaruli.
Outrage in the center-right. “Meloni is a Pu****”, here are the ‘political slogans’ of some CGIL activists addressed to our Prime Minister. In addition to offering the greatest solidarity to Giorgia Meloni, we hope that the CGIL and Secretary Landini, also like the exponents of the left, immediately give a signal and distance themselves from this shameful episode”, writes the president of Liguria Giovanni Toti on his page on Facebook. “Hate and sexist attacks are never justified and must be firmly condemned, by everyone, without double standards and double standards“, comments Toti.

Isolated voices, however, are raised by the opposition. “What we at Action think is that they are unworthy behaviors of a civilized, chauvinistic and vulgar country. Total solidarity”, writes Action leader Carlo Calenda on social media. And the women of the Democratic Party? The PD MEP broke the silence Alessandra Moretti: “Sexist insults against women must always be condemned. As a woman and as a left-wing politician, I am outraged by the vulgar chants directed at President Meloni. Retrograde culture is transversal: it must be everyone’s battle to defeat it.”
