Euro 7, Procaccini (Ecr): center-right majority emerged

“For the first time, a center-right majority was established, from the liberals of Renew to Id, including the PPE and the ECR, and managed to impose the common sense that was lacking in the Green Agreement until now.” This was highlighted by Nicola Procaccini, co-president of Ecr, when commenting on this morning’s vote on Euro 7 standards. “The approved text is, ultimately, very balanced”, commented Pietro Fiocchi (Ecr), who handled the dossier ,
“We were able to provide a pragmatic approach and we are very satisfied.”

Meanwhile, the ECR group in the European Parliament strongly condemns the cowardly attack against Alejo Vidal-Quadras, former president of the Spanish Popular Party of Catalonia and founder of Vox, injured by an unknown man who shot him in the face in the street, and calls on the police and to the Spanish judiciary to take resolute measures against those responsible. “We are in shock and feel very close to our friends at Vox – says Procaccini from Fratelli d’Italia – We are happy to know that our friend Alejo Vidal-Quadras was not seriously injured and we wish him a speedy recovery. We now hope that the police and judiciary will quickly bring those responsible to justice.” ECR co-chair Professor Ryszard Legutko said: “We have received frightening news from Spain, where a leading politician from our family of parties is shot in the street. We can only hope that Mr Vidal-Quadras recovers quickly and we wish him all the best in his recovery.” Vidal-Quadras, 78 years old, is also a former MEP and was vice-president of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2014.
