Strike on November 17, Salvini threatens injunction: don’t bring Italy to its knees

Strike on November 17th, Salvini takes to the field in defense of the workers. “A series of strikes is expected between now and the next few months. Woe betide those who question the right to strike, but some cannot deny the right of Italians to work, for example, there will be a 24 hour strike on Friday the 17th, which means bringing the country to its knees. The Guarantee Commission was right to ask for a quota, it was good to strike for 4 hours to demand your rights, but not for 24 hours. If the unions adhere well, otherwise I have already done so, there is the instrument of injunction. Someone’s right to strike cannot stop the country for days or weeks.” So the deputy prime minister and minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, at the Cna national assembly.

Salvini also addressed the issue of electric mobility which, according to the deputy prime minister, should not become mandatory at all costs. «Everyone cares about healthy air, a clean environment, the fight against hydrogeological degradation. But you cannot choose an enemy in the name of environmentalist ideology. The car and the van cannot be enemies. Predicting that you will have to go 30 mph in every city does not help the environment. Placing restricted traffic zones everywhere does not help the environment and harms jobs. Environmental protection yes, but having established by European legislation that from 2035 onwards only one electric car can be bought or sold is economic and environmental suicide. Only electricity is a gift for China.” This was stated by Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, speaking at the Cna annual assembly in Rome.
