Maurizio Gasparri, senator from Forza Italia, is a guest on the November 11 episode of Stasera Italia Weekend, a Rete4 talk show presented by Augusto Minzolini. During the broadcast we discussed the confrontation between Israel and Hamas that has lasted more than a month: “What was done on October 7th was indescribable. We forget that as we speak there are Israeli children and elderly people among the hostages, even children less than a year old and hostages who cannot walk due to their age. When it is said that Israel must cease fire and make a humanitarian truce, obviously we would all like there to be no wars, but why is there not a strong initiative to free the hostages? From time to time they show images with hostages used as threats. Either there are elderly people or very young children, it seems to me that in a video a lady filmed saying goodbye to a deceased relative and obviously she doesn’t know it and no one can tell her rightly. That’s why I also believe that pressure for the hostages to be released is essential.”
“Israel – says the blue senator with certainty – will not cease the fire, even the hospital case is clear. It shouldn’t hit the hospital, but we all know that Hamas normally uses tunnels and corridors under targets, which obviously can’t be hit, because bombing a hospital would be a mistake, but they are there. This horror must be reiterated, because it is not something parallel, there is an attack by fundamentalists and terrorists on a free and democratic country that decided not to be massacred. Then we can make all the appeals we want, but this – comments Gasparri – is the situation”.
