The current Grillino leader, Giuseppe Conte, distances himself from the comedian and founder of M5S, on the sidelines of meetings with representatives from the world of health about the economic maneuver, in Grillo’s words about Giulia Bongiorno: “Today I have a political role and I think that Politics should not mix with ongoing processes, I also think the same. I was investigated by the Bergamo Public Prosecutor’s Office, I went to court to defend myself, I did not comment on the ongoing process. I waited for the court of ministers to recognize the complete fairness of my actions and commented afterwards, so imagine if I can comment on someone else’s ongoing trial.”
Then Conte tries to win Grillo back: “Yesterday Grillo showed himself to be a great performer, he had been missing for 10 years, a great performance, he is in great shape, he broke Fazio’s audience record so chapeau. He uses irony, I have self-irony – Conte responds when asked to comment on phrases said about him -, I would say it was absolutely funny and if you want to know I started laughing, but instead Giorgia Meloni and the maneuver of this government that makes the country cry.”
