A “preventative” no: Elly Schlein announces that she will not speak at Atreju, a traditional political event organized by the Brothers of Italy. The secretary of the Democratic Party, according to sources from the Dem relaunched by the agencies, refused the invitation from Giovanni Donzelli, Fdi deputy and head of the party organization, which would have taken place yesterday at Transatlântico. After some time, the secretary of the Democratic Party replied that no and this is because, PD sources always emphasize, “the confrontation with the Brothers of Italy takes place in Parliament and also because it will be days of fire in the maneuver”.
However, a small mystery unfolds about the invitation to the Democratic leader. “Elly Schlein from Atreju? It would be good if Schlein’s Democratic Party were able to accept the challenge that Prime Minister Meloni launched, to change Italy together”, commented Luca Ciriani, Minister for Relations with Parliament, interviewed during the Agorà broadcast on Rai3. “It is an invitation to tell the opposition that we are available for discussion and reasoning, exactly the opposite of what part of the union does that responds to confrontation with a strike”. The Democrat’s preemptive choice provoked understandable criticism: “I don’t know if Donzelli invited Schlein to Atreju, but the Democratic Party’s preemptive refusal violates all etiquette of civil confrontation. it is the coup of the president of DC, Gianfranco Rotondi.
