Without mentioning the Green Alliance, the President of the Republic sent a short message saying he would support Health Minister Guillermo Jaramillo.

“I am requesting the Public Prosecution Service to open a preliminary investigation against the minister as soon as possible because of the statements in which he indicates that some members of Congress are receiving representation or ‘jam’. vote for the government in return,” he said.
This comes after the head of the Ministry of Health sparked controversy for statements about the ‘greens’, even creating a new obstacle to progress in the health reform debate.
“They make all the opposition even though they hold positions in the high government. (…) You cannot, as happens to some people, have a representation in the government, an important representation in Bogotá through SENA, an important representation through institutions like Icetex, “This president is very generous because he supports those who government, allows them to do all the resistance even though they have positions in the high government, which we have denied our own militants,” the official said.
In response, the Green Alliance warned in a statement that “Minister Jaramillo is wrong to believe that joining government is a bargaining chip for votes in Congress. We do not accept his imposition, nor that of anyone else.”
And he also warned that “the Green Alliance, as a ruling party, has committed itself to a policy of change and exercised free deliberation on bills in the Congress of the Republic, as well as political control; to stand out from what is considered troublesome for the country.”
