The House of Representatives will vote tomorrow on the election recount in four polling stations

The House of Representatives will meet tomorrow to decide on the recount of votes in the House of Representatives elections to be held in four polling stations in Tilburg. This has never happened before in the recent history of Parliament.

The fact that the House of Representatives is meeting to decide on the recount is the result of a new procedure under which the so-called Credentials Committee can recommend a recount to clear up doubts if it finds discrepancies in the count.

In this case, a counting difference of more than 15 votes emerged, and the commission then submitted a decision to the House of Representatives to recount the votes.

The parliamentary committee found that the Electoral Council calculated that the differences were too small to affect the outcome. Therefore, the probability that the result will change after a recount is almost zero. But the House committee wants to continue enforcing the new rules.

A sufficient number of members of the “old” House of Representatives must be present tomorrow to decide on a recount. If it is decided to hold a recount, it will be held on Saturday or Sunday.
