Forbes, Meloni in fourth place among the most powerful women in the world

The Forbes ranking that certifies the 100 most powerful women in the world is back for the 20th consecutive year. And this year Italy occupies a place of honor, with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in fourth place among the most influential women. She is the first Italian woman to hold a prominent position.

“Involved in politics since the age of 15, Meloni became Prime Minister on October 22, 2022, the first woman in Italian history to hold this position. President of Fratelli d’Italia since 2014, today she is the only woman at the head of a G20 country”, is the description of the tenant of Palazzo Chigi. In the ranking prepared by the North American magazine, three other world leaders are ahead of Giorgia Meloni : President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who occupies the top step of the podium, followed in second place by ECB President Christine Lagarde and Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris in third. There is also another Italian representative in the ranking: it is the Roman businesswoman Margherita Della Valle, CEO of Vodafone, who appears in 42nd place. “Think about how we are…”, this is how Meloni responded, using irony, to RTL who asked him for a comment on this ranking and about his fourth place.
