Pnrr, green light from the EU Council. Meloni: “Great result from the government”

The EU Ecofin Council today adopted, as expected, implementing decisions approving the modified recovery and resilience plans of 13 countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Poland and Romania. The news was promptly commented on by the prime minister. Giorgia Meloni, through an official note, declared: “Following the positive opinion of the European Commission, the Council today approved the revision of the Italian PNRR. Another great result from the Government that confirms the seriousness and effectiveness of the work carried out in these months. We intend to continue on this path, aware that the success of our PNRR is in the interests of the nation and its citizens”. With the Ecofin yes, the European green light for the revised Pnrr with the RepowerEu chapter becomes definitive.

The Minister for European Affairs, the South, Cohesion Policies and the PNRR, Raffaele Fitto, also spoke on the topic: “We are very pleased with the approval today by the Council of the review of the Italian PNRR”, he began by saying. “This positively concludes an intense work started in August and carried out with great incisiveness and effectiveness by the Italian Government in close collaboration with the European Commission”, he continued. “Today’s Council decision recognizes and establishes the quality of what has been done.” “Today”, concluded the minister, “is certainly a decisive and very important step but it is not a point of arrival. The Government, in constant collaboration with the European Commission, is already working on the implementation of the revised Plan, based on the objectives set for the fifth installment, the request for which will be presented soon”.
