Technical education and professions bill, green light. Valditara: “Fundamental reform”

Senate Committee VII approved this morning the government’s bill that reforms technical-vocational education with the introduction of the new 4+2 model. The project will be processed in the Chamber immediately after the budget law. “I thank the president of the Education Committee, Roberto Marti, the rapporteur, Ella Bucalo, the undersecretary Paola Frassinetti, the entire parliamentary majority and the Regions for the important work that was carried out in this fundamental stage of the bill approval process. Thank you also to the opposition forces who collaborated constructively in the reform”, declares the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara.

“This is an ambitious reform”, continues Valditara, “long awaited by schools and the productive world and in which this government strongly believes. We will have a first-rate technical and professional training chain, thanks to the strengthening of basic disciplines and the increase in laboratory and professional training; the connection between the school and companies will be stronger, there will also be a strong focus on internationalization and research. Our goal is for young people to have adequate preparation to find qualified employment more quickly and for companies to have the necessary professionalism and skills to be competitive. Let’s value the extraordinary human capital represented by our young people, let’s give the country the opportunity to function.”
