The left wants inclusion and continues the war on Christmas

The nativity scene with two Madonnas, the fight against Santa Claus, the mass interrupted by Last Generation activists, this year too the left is not giving up its personal war on Christmas. As if modernity must necessarily involve the cancellation of traditions. A refrain that is repeated every year with the cry for inclusion, but instead of including foreigners, it wants to exclude Italians. Because not offending others seems more important than continuing the traditions that our grandmothers passed down to us. First came the greeting message from +Europa. Four photos of the nativity scene where, however, there is never an image of Mary, Joseph and Jesus. In one you see two Marys with the baby, in another you see a colorful Jesus, in the third there are two Josephs and in the last one the great feat with the little black child, Mary in the African version and a boy, also black, next to her; perhaps the older brother of Jesus. The message says: «The beauty of traditions is that they can change». Obviously the provocative wishes aroused criticism to which Magos, secretary of +Europe, responded: «They want to impose mandatory nativity scenes in our public and secular schools to discriminate against children and young people of other religions and no one says anything. Instead, a greeting card published on +Europa’s social networks to celebrate the spirit of inclusion and love that should characterize Christmas is even accused of blasphemy. There are those who use religious symbols against the minorities of this country and there are those like us who want to unite and send a message of peace and freedom at a time of celebration like Christmas. Whoever is scandalized finds the star comet of common sense.”

A message that did not please even people close to the party, such as businesswoman Anita Likmeta, who left +Europa calling the post “political suicide”. Even Stefano Pedica, from the Democratic Party, didn’t like it and wrote: «First they want to change Jesus’ name to cuckoo, then they want to change the nativity scene tradition by manipulating the message. I respect all choices but let’s leave aside Christmas and religion, if any party wants to announce it they have the whole year to do so.” This offensive also included the contribution of Dom Vitaliano Della Sala, parish priest of the church of San Pietro e Paolo in Capocastello Mercogliano, in the province of Avellino. The priest set up a traditional nativity scene which, as he explained, “offers my personal reflection on a current topic” and this year the theme chosen was inclusion to “open a discussion within the Church”. And for that, nothing better than a beautiful nativity scene with two Marys taking care of the baby.

Meanwhile, in Bolzano, Generation Ultima activists, after blocking traffic throughout Italy, decided to interrupt the mass to reach the altar and display a banner that said: “There is a genocide in Gaza, Christmas is cancelled”. It is not clear what the conflict in the Middle East has to do with climate change, but clearly something must have changed if environmentalists are now dealing with geopolitics. How can we forget the Christmas play performed at a primary school in Agna, in the province of Padua, where all Catholic references were removed and Jesus became a cuckoo, once again so as not to offend anyone. No one has ever asked whether those offended are precisely those Italians who would simply like to continue celebrating Holy Christmas, honoring the birth of Jesus and the traditions that we have passed down from generation to generation for centuries.
