After all, the Superbonus exists, but with an ad hoc measure launched in today’s Council of Ministers by the majority to cushion the expenditure of public money originally conceived by the Conte II government. The measure adopted by Giorgia Meloni&Co was explained by the Fratelli d’Italia deputy, Tommaso Foti, who in the Rete 4 study by Stasera Italia defined it as an attempt to “save what can be saved”. In what sense? “The predictions about the Superbonus and also about the Facade bonus were very different. We achieved a global overrun of more than 100 billion euros compared to estimates. This should also make us reflect on how the law was written, because if there was a limit that could not be exceeded, we would not be in this situation today.” But this decree designed specifically to stop the bleeding requires “another economic effort on the part of the State”.
Host Stefania Cavallaro went further, anticipating that “the impact of this measure cannot be calculated to date”. However, “a Superbonus that circulates at the rate of 4.5 billion per month should make us reflect on how much has gotten out of control, even for those who had the duty to control it”. But the series of coups against the leader of the 5 Star Movement, Giuseppe Conte, did not end here. The former prime minister, in fact, accused Meloni on his social media profiles of having twice canceled the press conference – now scheduled for January 4, 2024 – “because he was influenced, but only found time for a social video to wish us a happy birthday with the Christmas tree.” Here is Foti’s comment on the words just quoted: “When a person declares that they don’t feel very well, they usually receive well wishes, not judgment. Among other things, the missed appointment was a press conference, certainly not a place he wants to run away from.”
In short, for the leader of the group in the Chamber of the majority party leader, “Conte proves that he is Conte, in the end. He showed this with the Superbonus and with all the measures that his governments have adopted. It seems to me that he has a particular conviction: that the State budget must be given regardless of the fact that debt is produced”. And this time, Foti says loudly, “he also showed that he has little style.”
“We are talking about a global exceedance of more than 100 billion euros compared to forecasts”
