The schools, according to a note from the Ministry, presented, in light of the national project, their requests to reduce the study cycle from 5 to 4 years, which will then allow access to the ITS (2 years), in an organic, but also at university or directly into the world of work. A cycle of studies carried out based on an enriched program in terms of strengthening basic and specialized skills, which sees on the ground a greater connection with the business world, with the local reality and with the ITS themselves, which will offer specialized post-training with diploma, in parallel with university training. Represent all regions. «An important response arrived from the institutes, which demonstrates our school’s extraordinary planning capacity and desire for innovation. My thanks to all managers and teachers for the extraordinary effort made to develop the projects within a very tight deadline. We will now be able to present this new offer to families for registration for the next school year. However, we will prepare actions to support the schools that will begin the experimentation”, declared the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara.

«The new technical and professional training, thanks to the alliance between school, territory and company, will guarantee our young people a high level of training and will reduce the misalignment between job supply and demand, offering greater employment opportunities and making them more competitive. the productive system”, continues Valditara. «The 4-year course, along the lines of other European countries such as Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria, was designed to guarantee solid preparation in the basic subjects, filling the gaps recorded in Italian, mathematics and English, and greater preparation in specialized areas, using great teaching flexibility. There will be new programs, not a compression of those designed for a five-year period. The 5-year teaching staff will be committed to the 4-year training offer without any reduction , as we always guarantee, to guarantee the quality of training. There will be more space for school-work alternation, for rapid insertion in highly qualified sectors and for strong internationalization. Research will also be promoted for the first time. The world is changing”, concludes Valditara, “and institutions have a duty to offer young people the tools to be protagonists”.
