The Roma Capitale theme is considered of priority importance by the leaders of the Italian groups in the Senate and Chamber. Maurizio Gasparri and Paolo Barelli promise to take the debate to the corridors of Parliament.
“Any initiative that relaunches the theme of Rome as Capital, with appropriate powers also at a constitutional level, is welcomed by Forza Italia. As leaders of the majority groups of Forza Italia and as Roman parliamentarians, we are particularly committed to ensuring that, in this legislature, we also intervene at the constitutional level to finally give our city the powers that are indispensable to enable a territorial government that is up to par. of its responsibilities that hang over Rome. Being involved in Parliament, we were unable to make a direct contribution to the debate that took place at the Capitol today, but we consider all opportunities that address this topic to be precious. Parliament is committed to important reforms that we share and support, from that of the Prime Minister to that relating to autonomies. As promoters of legislative proposals, both ordinary and constitutional, on the topic of Rome as Capital, we will take new initiatives such as Forza Italia, announcing them at the Congress that we will hold on Sunday morning in Rome, so that the issue of Rome as Capital also is addressed by Parliament as quickly as possible, to reach decisions that we came close to in the previous legislature, but that we absolutely must achieve in this one”.
