Last night the appeal from the Brothers of Italy arrived in Sardinia so that “the forces that make up the coalition, both national and territorial, can share” the proposal for Paolo Truzzu’s candidacy. Appeal addressed “in particular to the Sardinian Action Party to be able to continue on the path of change and renewal begun five years ago by President Christian Solinas”. The outgoing governor today, according to what Agi learned from majority parliamentary sources, is expected to accept the invitation. A national council of the Sardinian Action party is scheduled for the afternoon, in view of the regional elections. Meanwhile, Alessandra Zedda, former vice-president of the Region and regional councilor elected by Forza Italia, withdrew her candidacy for president as an independent and will support the center-right candidate.
However, there are still impurities in the alliance after the island standoff. The League has reversed its support for Solinas, but expects there to be a sacrifice from Forza Italia in Basilicata. The blue party, however, reiterates that there will be no change of course. “It’s not a market issue. Basilicata is well governed by Vito Bardi, appreciated in all polls”, noted Deputy Prime Minister and Chancellor Antonio Tajani. Therefore, excluding its regression, “there is no exchange rate negotiation with the League”. “There will be no problems in Abruzzo, Piedmont or Basilicata”, emphasizes the president of FI deputies, Paolo Barelli. The center-right “will demonstrate its ability to make political proposals and its ability to govern will be rewarded”, says Noi Moderados leader Maurizio Lupi.
At the same time, the coalition defends Solinas’ actions from a judicial point of view. “He was not harmed by the judiciary, because Fdi, FI and Lega are guarantor parties, they do not make decisions based on investigations”, guarantees the deputy secretary of the League, Andrea Crippa. FI is on the same wavelength. “I remain a guarantor, for me a person is only guilty when they are sentenced to the third degree of judgment: certainly even legal action during the election campaign, anyway… like that…”, Tajani cuts short. Among the issues on the table is also the dossier on the third term of regional presidents. The League insists. “I hope that next week the third term for mayors with up to 15 thousand inhabitants will reach the Council of Ministers, because we only need to thank the first citizens who are presidents of municipalities with 5-6-7-12 thousand inhabitants”, says the deputy -Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Matteo Salvini.
