Another negative sign for the Democratic Party in the latest SWG survey carried out for the La7 news program directed by Enrico Mentana. In the January 22nd edition of the news, the Brothers of Italy remained firmly in first place among Italian parties, with a total of 28.8% in voting guidelines, -0.2% compared to last week. But the Democratic Party remains at a distant distance, in fact it is slightly losing ground: Elly Schlein and her followers fall 0.3% to 19.1%, a sign that the battles fought in these first three weeks of 2024 are not bear fruit and the very unexpected turning point to bring Giorgia Meloni closer. Giuseppe Conte’s 5-Star Movement remains stable on the third step of the podium, without suffering any shocks and standing at 16.1%. Less also for the League, which went from 8.8% to 8.5% (-0.3%).
Forza Italia, Action and the Greens and the Left are on the rise. The Azzurri gain ground on their center-right allies and go from 7.2% to 7.4% (+0.2), the same increase as Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni, now at 3.6%, while the Azzurri party Carlo Calenda goes from 4% to 4.3% (+ 0.3%). Minimal drop for Italy alive (from 3.5% to 3.4%), while Europe gains 0.1%, now at 2.4%. Among the parties below 2% are Italexit for Italy, Unione Popolare and Noi Moderati, with 1.6%, 1.5% and 1% respectively. The abstentionist party grows by 3%, up to 41%.
