Memorial Day, La Russa is clear: “Shoah, absolute evil. This must never happen again.”

January 27th is a special date for the Jewish population and for all veterans of the mass extermination of the last century. The President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, wanted to commemorate the anniversary in a note, with a firm condemnation of the facts of the past: “On the occasion of Remembrance Day, I would like to renew the feeling of sincere closeness to the Jewish people and revere the memory of those who are not ‘is more. The Shoah is without a shadow of a doubt an absolute evil, an enormous tragedy, the symbol of a bestial hatred that must never be repeated again. A shared memory that vigorously repudiates all forms of hatred, racism, anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism is necessary, indeed indispensable. Remembrance Day and the crimes of the Shoah must – highlights La Russa – enter everyday life, in schools, in the hearts of young people, so that every day of the year is Remembrance Day”.
