Lega, Salvini’s maxi-internal research: all the questions at stake

«Should we ally ourselves with socialists in Europe?», «Would I buy an electric car?», «Better Trump, Joe Biden or Michelle Obama?». Matteo Salvini probes the League. With the European elections in mind, the party leader Via Bellerio sends a questionnaire to all deputies and those elected to Parliament to assess the pulse of the party and its members. Comprehensive questions, which in the vice-prime minister’s intentions would be better not to be generalized (“The inquiry is personal and should not be shared with third parties”, read the lines signed by Salvini that accompany the list of questions). «We are building our political battles for the coming years and we would like to know what you think about some important topics – explains the party leader in the questionnaire that AdnKronos saw -. For the League, your opinion and suggestions are fundamental.”

Thousands of activists received around fifteen questions. “Do you think that, to govern in Europe, the League should also ally with the socialists in Brussels?”, is the question in light of the June vote, the possible answers are ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Instead, more options – still on the topic of foreign policy – about the next US president: here the choice about “who would be the best future president of the United States” is between Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Michelle Obama, Nikki Haley, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., also leaving room for an “I don’t know”.

Salvini then asks for votes, approval from the government and the League, «How do you evaluate the government’s work in these first 15 months?», «Like the League’s?», possible answers range from «very satisfactory» to “very negative” . Salvini also asks the member of the Northern League for help on the agenda: «What are the priority issues for the country in your opinion?», here the choice is between «Autonomy and federalism», «Salaries and purchasing power», «Mobility», “Taxes”, “Health”, “Fight against immigration”, “Environment”, “Animal protection”, “Security”, “Justice reform”. There is no shortage of questions to understand how the activist obtains information: «What channels do you use to obtain information? (Television, paper newspapers, online newspapers, radio, social networks). There is also a question about electric cars (“Would you buy an electric car?” “Yes”, Yes, but at an affordable price”, “I already own one”, “No”: these are the possible answers). And finally about nuclear energy. “Are you in favor of the construction of nuclear power plants in Italy?” asks the never-sent letter from Via Bellerio.
