Sardinia, Todde doesn’t want Conte and Schlein. Leaders eliminated

The hypothesis of a rally involving the president of M5S Giuseppe Conte and the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein, to close the electoral campaign of Alessandra Todde, candidate of the progressive coalition for the Sardinia region, has disappeared. There has been a lot of discussion about this, the hypothesis seemed to be on the table: Conte had already given his availability, days ago (“Todde will decide, I will give my availability from now on”, he said); Schlein reiterated it again today (“I gave my availability to Conte, who in recent days asked us to press together for Todde”, she said at the PD Board).

But it is Alessandra Todde who dampens spirits: the candidate confirmed that she had received availability from both leaders, whom she thanks for their support, but who strongly desires, she reiterated, a completely Sardinian closure. “This game is ours, the Sardinians’,” said Todde, relaunching a request that comes from the area. «Giuseppe was in Sardinia for three days, Elly returns tomorrow to Carbonia and Cagliari. On the evening of the 21st, Bersani will close in Nuoro. There was no lack of support from the leaders and I thank them for that. We decided to close Cagliari on the night of the 23rd among our people and with the citizens of Sardinia,” Todde told Adnkronos.

A kind of declaration of autonomy, especially in response to the accusations of candidate Renato Soru who often accused his opponent of representing a candidacy downloaded from above, that is, from Rome. So, despite pressure from the press for what would undoubtedly represent a tempting opportunity to see the two share the same stage, for now it seems that we will have to wait a little longer. Certainly a setback for the leaders of M5S and Pd.
