Petro’s cabinet conclave began this weekend in Paipa

In this context, the Minister of the Interior, Luis Fernando Velasco, He stated that this conclave “seeks to listen to the opinions of all Colombians, and that a council will be promoted to carry out political reflection in light of the marches.”

That will be precisely one of the topics that will be discussed: last weekend’s marches against the government, to make a point self-criticism from the House of Nariño to what The government is not doing well.

However, progress in some of the policies and implementation of the Petro era will also be evaluated, as well as the status and alternatives of social reforms in their process in the future. Congress of the Republic.

In the closed consultation, the intention is that the ministers and directors of government entities go to the board one by one and explain what is going well and what is going badly in their respective portfolios and sectors.

In the midst of this conclave, the mayor of Paipa, Boyacá, Germán Camacho, seeks a space with the national government to discuss the municipality, focusing on its tourist and cultural potential.

“Taking advantage of the presence of the President and his ministers, we want to have a space with them from the Paipa mayor’s office. We would like to tell you about some situations in which we would like the Presidency to help us. There is a very relevant cultural issue, namely the 50 years of the National Band Competition, which is the legacy of Colombians,” he told several media outlets.

This is the government’s third strategic meeting so far in Petro’s mandate.

The meeting takes place amid questions raised by the control entities, as well as from various political, trade union and opinion sectors about the poor implementation of some ministries of Gustavo Petro’s government.
