Elly Schlein aims for group sex: “Different political forces together”

One day after the results of the second round of the legislative elections in France, the Italian left-wing parties are ready to sing the Marseillaise together with Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Among them, as expected, is also Elly Schlein. With the aim of throwing mud at the Meloni government, the secretary of the Democratic Party tried to send a message to possible future allies. It happened on In Onda, a political and current affairs talk show on La7 hosted by Luca Telese and Marianna Aprile. “The real surprise of these French elections is this extraordinary result of the New Popular Front, which also brings together different political forces. There is the French Socialist Party, there are the Greens who have had the ability to join forces to build a coherent and shared project for the future of the country”, declared the Democratic leader live on air.

Schlein then tried to identify the differences between Italy and France: “I think that instead we have a different job to do in Italy. We must not respond to a contingent element of concern. We must work from today to build the alliance much earlier. The whys, not the cons,” he suggested. “I believe – he then added – that they had a great ability to unite on a coherent program and the agreement with the Macronian liberals on the withdrawal was fundamental, but what was most striking was the great turnout response to yesterday’s vote,” he added.
