The changes in the ministerial cabinet that have been “boiling” for several days are now starting to take effect. One of the names on the list of those who left was that of Luis Fernando Velasco, Minister of the Interior.
In the morning hours of this Saturday, June 29, President Gustavo Petro published a surprising message in which he confirmed Velasco’s departure from that portfolio. He did so by first referring to the constituent power and questioning the recent polls.
“They are conducting false surveys to block the constituent power. The next Minister of the Interior will make the necessary contacts so that the constituent power is realized in this or the next government,” the president began.
In his message, he thanked the work of Luis Fernando Velasco, with whom he ended his term. “Thank you Minister Velasco for your good work,” he concluded.
