Fratoianni wants everything for free. The latest proposal on football and universities

“Football has become an elite sport, families can no longer afford it and so we lose the footballing talent that exists in the less affluent classes. This is why we have to think about free football.” Nicola Fratoianni starts from a phrase by Beppe Marotta, president of Inter, in his latest Facebook post. The leader of the Italian left actually launches the proposal for free football and university: “After the disaster of the national football team, I heard Marotta repeat this concept several times. I am convinced that he is right and that he raises an issue that does not only have to do with sport. Even school and university have now become a luxury in our country and hundreds of thousands of boys and girls cannot afford a proper education because it is too expensive. This is the reason why we have been saying for some time that in Italy education should be free from the cradle to university. Otherwise – writes the Avs parliamentarian – we lose millions of potential talents, but above all the right to education, sport and free time is jeopardized. Whether they become champions or not. This applies to education as well as to football and sport in general.”
