Supreme Court orders investigation and punishment of those responsible for attack plan

He Supreme Court President, Justice Gerson Chaverra, At a press conference on Friday, he called for an investigation into the alleged plan to attack the Palace of Justice, headquarters of the Supreme Courts in the centre of the capital, and that those responsible are punished.

“Based on police intelligence work, the Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered a raid on two buildings south of Bogotá last Tuesday. a model of the Palace of Justice and several explosive packages of black powder, cartridges and suppliers,” the man said at a press conference.

“Over the past two or three days, coordination has taken place and measures have been implemented to strengthen the security of the region “Courthouse”he confirmed.

Similarly, he indicated that the judiciary had issued a statement demanding the strengthening of security measures “and related to the concern that this fact raises in us.”

Regarding the reasons why the Palace of Justice would be attacked, he stated: “I have no evidence to determine the cause of this situation. We only demand that the investigation be carried out so that the facts are clarified and those responsible are punished.”

And Chaverra guaranteed that, despite this situation, “the Supreme Court continues to fulfill its mission with the tranquility of police security measures.”

In a joint statement, the Interinstitutional Commission of the Judiciary and the National Judicial Disciplinary Commission They rejected any act that threatens the integrity of judicial officers and the autonomy of the work of justice in Colombia.
