Meloni-Salvini, meeting on Thursday: tripartite summit with Tajani on August 30

The meeting lasted two hours, according to government sources, between Giorgia Meloni and Matteo Salvini at the Apulian farmhouse where the Prime Minister is spending a few days on vacation. It was also the occasion – the same sources explain – of a phone call to the Deputy Prime Minister and leader of Forza Italia, Antonio Tajani. The leaders, according to our information, agreed to a face-to-face meeting of the three on August 30 “to take stock of the most urgent matters”.

The announcement comes on a day marked by controversy over Alessandro Sallusti’s background, according to which there is a political-prosecutor’s scheme underway that aims to target Giorgia Meloni’s government by bringing her sister Arianna into the spotlight. Theorems about the alleged role in the decision on the appointment of subsidiaries in the hope that an investigation will be opened, perhaps for influence peddling.
