Fratelli d’Italia is heading towards 30 percent, the League is holding steady and Forza Italia is at 11 percent. In short, the Boccia-Sangiuliano affair has not affected the consensus between the majority parties and the government of Giorgia Meloni, which is seeing an increase in approval ratings. This is a sign that Italians have not given credence to the narrative developed by the opposition. The above data comes from the latest “Monitor Italia” survey by Dire-Tecnè, with interviews conducted between 19 and 20 September. Here are the data and considerations.
THE PARTIES – Fratelli d’Italia’s growth continues, gaining +0.2% in a week to reach 29.2% and starting to see the 30% target within sight. The Democratic Party remained stable at 23.6, while both Forza Italia and M5S gained +0.1 and +0.2% respectively, standing at 11 and 10.9%. The League remains in fifth place with 8.2% of the vote (-0.1%), while Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra is in sixth place with 6.5% (-0.2). The share also fell to 2.8% (-0.1). Italia viva instead recovers +0.1 and reaches 2%. +Europa fell, losing -0.1 to 1.7%. The other parties combined reached 4.1% of the vote after being down 0.1 from seven days ago.
THE LEADERS – Prime Minister Meloni is still in first place among the leaders in Italian approval ratings, with 43.2% of the votes, achieved thanks to +0.1% obtained in the last seven days. The podium remains unchanged: in second place is Antonio Tajani, with 36.7%, and in third Elly Schlein, with 30.9%, both unchanged compared to the previous week. Giuseppe Conte remains in fourth place, with 30% of the votes after +0.1% registered compared to seven days ago. Next comes Matteo Salvini, with 26% and -0.1%. Behind him are Emma Bonino with 20.5% and -0.2%; Carlo Calenda with 20% and -0.1%; Angelo Bonelli with 16.6% and +0.1%; Nicola Fratoianni with 16.5% and +0.2%. Matteo Renzi closes the ranking with 14.3% of the votes after -0.1%.
THE GOVERNMENT – More than half of Italians – 53% – do not trust the Meloni government, but the figure has fallen by -0.3% compared to seven days ago. On the other hand, the share of those who trust the executive led by Fratelli d’Italia rises to 39.5%, gaining +0.2%. The percentage of those who “don’t know” remains almost unchanged, at 7.5%, an increase of 0.1%.
