Earthquake in the Roman and regional Democratic Party after a status published by councilor Eleonora Mattia appeared among Whatsapp updates (therefore visible to all those who have her telephone contact) which, before disappearing, went viral among political staff’s chats. A new storm after what happened a few days ago due to Giorgia Meloni’s words in the Fratelli d’Italia parliamentarians’ chat. But now, as I mentioned, it’s the Democrat’s turn. Mattia, belonging to the democratic current that refers to deputy Claudio Mancini, who many consider to be the true director of the city council remodeling that has just taken place in Rome, writes sentences with an unequivocal political content, but whose addressee, for now, is unknown.
“Good morning – he begins – this is my job and then there is what you threw at me yesterday in front of three colleagues”. The occasion could be a meeting that took place before the regional leadership of the Democratic Party, scheduled for last night, and in which Mattia appears not to have participated. Other important exponents of Capitoline politics, who hold public positions, then enter the scene in the message. Among those mentioned are Giulia Tempesta, president of the Democratic Party of Rome and the Capitoline Budgetary Commission, with proven faith in Mancini and extremely loyal to Mayor Roberto Gualtieri; Pierluigi Sanna, deputy mayor of the metropolitan city of Rome, and also Daniele Leodori, councilor of Pisana and regional secretary of the Democratic Party, a reference for the Dem Area. After mentioning “personal humiliations” that cannot be “forgotten”, Eleonora Mattia concludes the statute with an announcement: “Do not consider me part of your component anymore. I’ll have time to explain.”
Il Tempo tried to contact Mattia by phone, for the moment without success, while its spokesperson said that the statement was “a piece of a private conversation shared publicly by mistake”. This morning the councilor published a post on Facebook: “As may have happened to many of you, today I accidentally published an excerpt from a private conversation on my WhatsApp status, which is circulating among my contacts. I would like to point out that this is precisely the content of a private conversation of mine, an outburst that does not represent what I think about the people mentioned who mistakenly ended up in WhatsApp statuses and of an exclusively private nature. I apologize to the person with whom I had the conversation, for unintentionally revealing its contents, and to the people mentioned in the message that was cunningly spread against my will. The judgments expressed must be contextualized within a conversation that has no public relevance.”
However, it seems that the consequences of the remodeling of the Capitoline council have reached the Region, triggering a new political case.
