Pass the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, to the amendment included in the tax law decree of the mechanism that allows taxpayers to allocate two per thousand to party financing, particularly with regard to the distribution of the funds thus obtained. Quirinale sources confirm the opposition of the Head of State who would not give the green light to such a rule for several reasons.
Firstly, the lack of homogeneity with regard to the matter contained in the device under discussion in the Senate. Furthermore, such a reform would require an ad hoc provision and not a simple provision contained in an amendment to a decree-law that has particular characteristics, mainly the requirements of necessity and urgency. Finally, the proposed change would have a significant impact on public finances and the funds that derive from citizens’ choices.
