Who knows if there is anyone among those present at the “Return of the Congress Palace” who looks back at the past that seems to have passed away today? When there were meetings in neighborhoods and city committees, when there were activists, the first lists in the 2009 local elections were “Friends of Beppe Grillo” and, to tell the truth, this was the result. The selection was very poor. In January 2008, Beppe Grillo announced that “from today the blog is becoming active in politics with a site dedicated to citizens, civil lists, who take their own destiny, their own Municipality, their own District into their own hands.” Administrative electoral lists across the country were hastily drawn up and directly “approved” by Grillo, who was the sole leader at the time.
Beginnings
Anyone can create a citizenship list using the relevant symbol, provided that members are not registered with any political party or movement at the time of candidacy and that each candidate has not received any criminal convictions, even if not certain. In the Sicilian regional elections, “Friends of Beppe Grillo” received 1.7 percent of the votes, while Sonia Alfano, the daughter of the journalist killed by Mafia Beppe Alfano and president of the National Association of the Family of Mafia Victims, received 2.4 percent of the votes. Things didn’t fare any better in Rome, with 2.6% of the vote; This result did not lead to the election of any aldermen, but was sufficient to elect four aldermen left to their own devices. A well-equipped organizational structure did not yet exist. The only municipal councilor was elected in Treviso, where the leading list of the 5 Star Movement reached 3.6%. In Rome, the “Friends of Beppe Grillo” nominated for mayor Serenetta Monti, a trade union activist who espoused the Grillina cause, was an animator of the Capital Meeting, and won her candidacy through live consultations in a club. Rome collected 45,000 votes in the elections.
Times of Paola Taverna
In the list of “friends of Beppe Grillo” presented in the 2008 Rome municipal elections, we find some political representatives who later had a proud political career in the ranks of the 5 Star Movement. The first of these is Roberta Lombardi, who won 191 preferences in 2008. Another prominent name is Paola Taverna, who managed to receive only 19 preferences in 2008. The embarrassing election results did not discourage him, so much so that he was later elected to Parliament twice, in 2013 and 2018. Serenetta Monti, the leading face of the movement in nucere, is currently leaving “Gli amici di Beppe Grillo”. Where the transformation of various Gatherings into the 5 Star Movement will take place in September 2009. The figure of Serenetta Monti is illustrative of the almost anthropological transformation of the militant and 5-Star politician. Because it gives a vision of activism on fundamental issues, mostly related to the concept of the “common good” (expressed by the five stars in the symbol that overlap with the themes of public water, environment, connectivity, sustainable development and transportation linked to clean energy), as the 5 Star Movement gradually gains electoral consensus, “power We would move towards a militancy based on “power”. A synthesis is aimed by eliminating the extremist wings within, disobeying the leader’s word and canceling the internal debate. If the comparison between different views were valid, in the spirit of the meetings, the Leader’s Word would prevail in the 5 Star Movement until a synthesis was found, and anyone who tried to discuss the issue would be expelled.
This is how Conte came to be between super bonus and poverty
To cut. We are in 2018, the 5 Star Movement must find a guarantee figure at the head of the League and the yellow-green government and overcome the political impasse. Political results show that the 5 Star Movement has broken the bipolar structure. Giuseppe Conte, a typical professional of the Roman generation, who was transported to the capital by the work of priests from the small town of Volturara Appula in Gargano, finds his way among the ranks of Grillini. No one can explain what this has to do with the Movement. But maybe that’s exactly why the League feels safe. He is seen by both Grillini and the Northern League as the gray figure of King Travicello, placed there to guarantee the government contract signed between the two political forces. What occurred was a radical transformation of the 5 Star Movement from an almost Soviet party with a very strong employer leadership; this gradually mellowed, allowing brave champions to emerge and create their own groups of followers. Now the Movement looks more like a party. Except for some features, such as the ban on double duty, the Grillinis are now compromising, bargaining, negotiating positions of power, and getting their hands dirty with their allies in the government. The transformation was so successful that in 2019, the 5 Star Movement formed an alliance with the Democratic Party with chameleon ease, creating an opposition government. After all, Giuseppe Conte and the 5 Star Movement gave life to two pandemic governments, first with the League and then with the Democratic Party; Among the main achievements of these governments, they created a new format of press conferences and nightly corporate announcements via live broadcast. Facebook beat poverty with the Citizen’s Income and unwittingly created the conditions for the largest fraud against the State’s public accounts with the 110% Super Bonus.
end of date
Those who remember Serenetta Monti and Beppe Grillo Friends like a highlander during the event at Palazzo dei Congressi in EUR have lived at least three political lives. The ideological turmoil, from Gianroberto Casaleggio’s apocalyptic and messianic vision to Giuseppe Conte’s maneuvers and small-scale political strategies, is not easy to stomach. What the 5 Star Movement has been and what it is preparing to become today probably heralds its historical end. To leave to future generations a representative party suitable to form the second or third leg of the coalition government, whether centre-left or centre-right.
And for this, even a leader like Giuseppe Conte is largely sufficient.
