Government, “without remodeling”. Bignami closes the door to the hypothesis

To Lega senator Claudio Borghi, who yesterday raised the possibility of a reshuffle that would strengthen the government team, the leader of the Fratelli d’Italia group in the Chamber, Galeazzo Bignami, responded in the columns of La Stampa: «That would mean – he says – blocking a machine that is working fine. Renovations always give citizens a feeling of fragility. It would be a mistake to damage the image of this stability, which is also a central element for the government internationally.” A return of Matteo Salvini to the Ministry of the Interior in the future? “I wouldn’t know. I know that at the moment he is working well at the Ministry of Transport”, responds Bignami after the hypothesis of an exchange with Matteo Piantedosi.

Another topic addressed by the leader of the FdI group is the war in Ukraine. “If the League calls for the next possible military aid package for Ukraine to also be the last, as always, a common point of failure will be found. But if Ukraine asks us for help again, Italy will certainly not back down and will coordinate with its European partners. Just ten days ago – Bignami also recalls – in the resolution voted by the entire majority, there was talk of the need to continue supporting Ukraine with military aid, but also economic and financial aid, because the objective is to achieve a just peace. I think we will continue to move in that direction, consistently.”
