He also expects a revival of the virus in the autumn. “There can be 5-10 million infections in the winter.” But unlike the past two years, Kuipers wants different parts of society, not the government, to take the lead in the fight against the virus.
Kuipers: “All I can do is monitor the virus closely, announce a new vaccination campaign if necessary and urge health officials to take all precautions. But at the same time, the question for the school or restaurant owner is: what do you do in this process? is it your life? Is it your environment?”
The Hague is no longer solely responsible
“The Corona really belongs to all of us, it is no longer only The Hague that is responsible,” said the minister. “Businesses and citizens say: take matters into your own hands.” However, not all sectors are well prepared.
