The results of the first presidential round in Colombia, in which Gustavo Petro (with more than 8.5 million votes) and Rodolfo Hernández (with more than 5.9 million votes) secured their passage to the second round, show a desire for change among Colombians.
Political analysts agree on this. Orlando Caballero and Jolie Guzmanwho participated in the special broadcast of EL HERALDO on this Sunday’s election day.
“There is a smell of change,” said Caballero, who argued that a more conscious, informed and free voice could be appreciated on this occasion.
He stressed that this was evident in the way the candidate Hernández, who comes from the province and has an independent character, took the second highest number of votes, beating Federico Gutiérrez, who was second in the polls.
“We can say that there is an opinion, because a campaign like the one in Fico Gutierrezrepresenting the trade union of the parties, which was suddenly against Gustavo Petro in an expected way for everyone, did not work,” he indicated.
In his opinion, engineer Hernández showed himself a person closer to the voters, who spoke like them and was against the class traditional politics.
